Getting Started

This section provides a step-by-step path from a clean start.

Learning sequence

1. Product Overview: Learn where Captain Who fits and understand its current boundaries.
2. Installation and First Launch: Obtain a trusted installer and launch the app.
3. Interface Tour: Learn the left sidebar, conversation area, composer, right sidebar, and settings.
4. Complete Your First Task: Configure a model and have a conversation that does not modify files.
5. Use Your First Project: Select a local folder and let an agent understand and help with the project.

Before you begin

• A trusted Captain Who build supplied by the project team. No public download channel is currently available.
• A compatible model API URL, token, and model identifier.
• A Tavily API key if you want to use web search.
• A local folder that you are authorized to access and modify if you want to work with a project.

For your first session, use Default permissions and ask the agent to perform read-only analysis. After you understand how it works, enable broader permissions only when a task requires them.
